This is the result of a collaboration between Achenar and myself, lyrics written and performed by Achenar, music by me. Be prepared for a really energetic track.
[/b]It’s Right Around Your Neck
Our Pervasive, Invisible Collar
Examine The Tag
It Blazons Your Mark
Etched In Liquid Gold
Witness Your Reflection
Recognise Features Embossed
With Ignorant Complicity
Feel The Man Tug Your Leash
Leading Down A Prescribed Path
From Stall To Stall To Stall
Permitting To Look And Touch
But Keep Those Eyes Front!
So Step Back
Look Around
Yes, Your Path Loops
What You Now See
Was Necessary
To Advance This Far
Reaching This Exact Point
Where We Can Summon The Strength
To Reach Up Our Arms
And Tear The Self Made Shackle
From Our Throat
Ignorance Cages Thee
Bliss Through Infancy (of the mind)
Who Will Set You Free?
It Must Be I
Thanks for the release, extra points for the darkness. I enjoyed the groove and the clanging industrial sounds, very much up my rusted alley. I used to dig vocals like this and sung like this without hesitation - but nowdays my taste and approach is moving on to more melodic and subtle territories, so the quality vox here was kinda lost on me. Good words though, I agree with the sentiment.
Maybe LP filter the post wet on the vocal verb to 5k? Or lower?
shit nigga, this is like intellegent dance goth for lack of better words. the production is top. if this is your style you probably can get signed to http://www.cleorecs.com/. cleorecs reissues stuff from zoth ommog too.
I remember seeing a preview of this beat a while back - while it sounded good - didnt expect something this classy to be the end result. great work guys!
Not normally my style…but I really got into it.
I think I’m going to start rating songs by how psycho it makes me in online games: this one sent me on a manic medic run of 28 kills - 0 death in bf 1942 the first time i fired it up
I’m getting more calm myself recently, though i still love some nasty stuff, as i originally listened mostly to gabba and speedcore, when i was younger. I’d love to hear some old tracks from you.
I think the voice is ok as it is, i tried a lowpass on them and the vocals lost some presence, so i left them as they are. Achenar has done a well job producing these and layering various parts.
That comment made me laugh. I know that feeling myself, when listening to good music and playing UT04, seems to push the adrenaline and gameplay quite heavy.
I’ve been listening to lots of EBM and goth electro lately, and first I thought “this is pretty nice.” Now I’ve listened to it some more, and I’ve changed my mind…
