I’m so hyped. They’re releasing a new album called Inferno. Damn. Are there more fellow BoC fans around here as hyped as I am?
Looking forward to it as well! I still remember my first listen of MHTRTC in the summer of 1998. By the time telephasic workshop rolled through my mind had been opened… Been a fan ever since ![]()
I feel embaressed to say, but i discovered them about a couple of months ago. That Olson track is so beautiful.
Oh awesome! It’s been ages since I’ve listened to them.
Amazing band. Insane fan-base.
So, the album is out and it’s fu**ing awesome. I can’t get enough of it. Anyone sharing the same feeling out here?
Oh nice, didn’t realize it dropped. Suppose I should listen!
Edit- digging the vibes so far. A little darker, less strictly tonal, classic BOC compositional devices… Good shit
The word becomes flesh is dope af. I dig father and son too. All these found lyrics are really interesting. Innovative
Into the magic land has some definite dungeon synth vibes ![]()

All reason departs is another easy favorite so far
For me, Father and Son, Age of Capricorn and Naraka are absolutely brilliant, but I really enjoy all of those you mentioned too. Great album
Album is good, but totally overrated imo
Imho , i’ts really below par
The vocal cut-ups come over as just pure filler material because most of the songs just don’t have enough body to it and are imho going nowhere , so let’spice it up with ..fodder
All reason departs is a great track , but that’s a about
Father and son , seriously nothing good about it , naraka …crinchy hare kRishna vocals on top .
I bought music has the right and geogaddi when it was released and imho they never achieved the same level of consistency and songwritership afterwards .
Imho , inferno is totally overrated but perhaps I ‘ve just outgrown their sound and boring chord progressions , and a few vocoder vocal chop-ups won’t make me wooowzers either .
I guess I’m bored of canada… Listening to ‘Inferno’ standard minor chord affair I would think most on here could do that… The only saving of it was the outro at the very end where they quiet down & actually change-up the chord variety which was a nice touch otherwise standard fair slop…
Certainly prevented me from seeking out more & just be a bore in canada…
I purchase BOC albums like I purchase AFX albums. No matter if it’s overrated or not. It’s better than 95% of the musical craps (and now even AI craps) that flood the platforms. Enjoy the sound. Of course other people can do the same. But they don’t. Because people like BOC or AFX have this “little thing” that others don’t have. Soul ? Genius ? I don’t know. But BOC has a unique sound, and they master their art. They don’t lie. And I’m happy they are still in the game!
When I heard the teaser I wondered if they were going to branch into film score type stuff. The harp and drums sound a bit like they layered some Kontakt instruments over an old demo. Which in premise, isn’t BAD, but it definitely doesn’t feel like BoC. In the end I think some of the best stuff on the album sounded more clean and digital, and I really like a few of them. The first half just feels like filler though.
Naraka’s got Shin Megami Tensei vibes
