I (sadly) bought the Komplete Audio 6 USB interface as a second device.
It can’t directly monitor the inputs, only onto the headphones outputs (very misleading marketing driven feature description ). So now that I am trying to direct monitor input 3/4 of the device via software in Renoise using the line-input device, it seems to me that there is no input at all then.
Seems to be a bug to me. I can do the same in Bitwig without a problem, if I there put input 3/4 into an audio track and enable monitor input, I can hear all input just normally.
The audio device does not come with custom drivers, but instead is a play’n’play usb2 device, using macos default coreaudio driver. So the device has no software volume control, as seen in the midi/audio settings app screenshot above. So this might be reproducible with any plug’n’play usb2/3 device (providing 192kHz max)
The software input of all inputs works just normally in any other app.
I think this is a driver initialization issue in Renoise. If I use input 1/2 I can hear some distorted stuttering sound at least. No other rate nor latency will fix it. This is already better than no sound at all (as with input 3/4), but it looks to me that somehow the input device was not properly set to the accord rate and/or latency, or similar. Happens on the recent version.
Does it matter if you put the slider in the bottom screenshot for the input needed to the right?
I have a mixer/souncard combo option with multiple inputs and besides enabling and setting up each input in windows 11 to have the correct amount of channels and sample rate, you can set whether other apps are allowed to use the input for audio. Perhaps changing the ‘exclusivity’ makes a difference, dunno if Mac also has stuff like this?
On the hardware front, I need to select the correct input channel for the audio to run through, does the komplete thing have button selectors for the input configuration on the hardware?
