Burial - Untrue

have you guys listened to Burial’s new album Untrue?
what do you think about it?
i kind of like it but the first album sounded somewhat more genuine.

also check out snoop doggs new video
there are a couple of big LOLs waiting for you.

Now it happened. Autotune made even the dangerous gangstarappers sing. At least it was the first video with stereo sound that I heard on Youtube.

that’s not autotune, that’s a talkbox :P

p.s. I kinda like that song actually

I’m a BURIAL-fan TTMX!!!
Yeah, Untrue is a fantastic album, very deep atmosphere, daring in sound and Burial is one of the few artists who dares to take dubstep to a next level.

i dont know about daring :)
its more about being able to take it to the next level.
i like his first album better almost but they r both really awesome.
what other dubstep do you listen to?
don’t say skream :)

Vex’d, Distance, Kromestar, and yes… Skream too, but not too familiar with his stuff…
I find it very daring, because it is not relying solely on a beat and bass,
like 90% of dubstep. Burial is more about atmosphere, instead of just
letting bassline wobble and I find that daring in a scene that is all about
tough guys and ruff grooves.

Dont get me started on Burial…

As for Dubstep, yeah this is the music for me. It is what I make and what I listen to.

Toooo many wicked joints to recommend…

Benga, KZ, The Subdivision, Distance, Loafah, etc etc.

I have a million tracks and mixes if anyone is interested.

Peace.

(Hey Crytek mate. I got your PM. Just been real busy dude. Get in touch man)

I like a marriage of dubstep and breakcore: Download.

This was partly inspired from Burial’s Distant Lights with the cool gun-metal sounds. The breakcore is Alex, and very much inspired by THIS Renoise scene.

Dub has had a long evolution, you guys should check out the back history.

mmd: breakstep they call it :D

p.s. does everyone know Burial doesn’t use a sequencer and only uses soundforge?

Going to download this tonight, very curious! Been trying a dubstep versus breakcore myself, too.
Never upped the result, but I play the track live quite often. It works great as an interlude.

“Ofcourse” I’ve been into dub for quite some time, listening loads ragga dub before I discovered
Asian Dub Foundation, which suited my needs for years and years. Dub got me into jungle.

Listened Phoebe for a few times… very atmospheric track, great sound, really manages to sweep the listener with it… but I didn’t really find it that much of a marriage between breakcore and dubstep… more like a crossover between breakbeat and jungle or even rock… no real ‘dubby’ ingredients, but really enjoyed the track nonetheless!

Thanks BotB! Ah well, that’s how it sounded in my head ;) Aw comeon, it’s got skank!

One of the albums of the year. The vocals actually do add emotion. But in an underground neo-rave, 1-st generation uk garage way, which may not seem apparent if you didn’t experience that in the correct context. Ask yourself, do you find Acen’s Trip II the Moon emotive or cheese?

Interview. Being anonymous, only 5 people know he makes tunes. ^_^
