I cannot figure out the logic of MIDI recording in Renoise.
When create an instrument where the samples are set to NNA --> continue and One Shot, the input quantise to 1 line, and I then record a single note coninuously (that is, NO OVERLAPPING NOTES!), then I get this:
My questions:
What is the logic behind the newly created columns? When does Renoise create a new column, and why?
How can I stop Renoise from creating new columns when it is not necessary, and set it to only create new columns when it is necessary (i.e. overlapping notes)?
new created columns are for polyphony, if you are playing chords or something, if you want to record everything in one column, just hit mono button in sampler or plugin window
But my point is that they not only go into different columns when there actually IS polyphony, but entirely randomly. How can I stop that? In the picture I posted nothing is polyphonic.
Switching to mono mode will not work in a situation where there actually is polyphony. In this situation Renoise should only create a new column when needed, but it does it also when not needed.
