Those funky melodies reminds me of the old module “Banana split”…
Maybe just an EQ would help out that kick. Imo it is good but a bit high in frequency. But to be honest… that hihat really sucks.
i agree with the kick being way too high… just lowering it one octave makes such a difference… the hihat though, since all else is kind of ‘lo-fi’ it works over here… (qualitywise it still sucks, though 
) but it makes the kick stand out so darn much, letting it to take over… (damn… Im totally hung up on that kick! 
)

On the other hand I like Andy’s idea that it fits into the lofi-world…or am I just too lazy?
