(since I don’t really have time yet to dip my toes into xrns/xml I thought it can’t hurt to get the idea out anyway, in case anybody wants to pick up on it)
The idea: chopping up a long sample by inserting notes as long as the sample lasts, using the 9xx effect and the delay column (to make it easier, let’s assume no pitch changes/slides, no tempo changes, NOTHING).
Preferably with some definable degree of tolerance, with zero tolerance meaning that notes only get inserted where there is a possible combination of 9xx and delay that results in being sample exact (if that is even possible - no way to tell without a prototype…)
2.0: automatically “convert” all samples that fit the rules (no pitch changes etc., and also beyond a defined length to make it worthwhile) and mark them somehow (e.g. adding CHOP to the name), and undoing that just as automatically.
And/or maybe showing a list of all eligible/chopped samples to convert/undo them.
Oh, coding in the head is so sweet, and so FAST… and useless
