There have been so many buttons that used to have text that now are represented as icon buttons. This by itself wouldn’t be a bad thing if all the icons didn’t look so similar to each other: only 2 colors are used for all the icons. I know people may like their color schemes and such, but things like the play button would be great if it was green and the record button red–colors that have been adopted over the years by many programs and devices for certain kinds of functions in their icons would be beneficial to put into renoise. In general, full-color icons are much more expressive of what they do than just 2 color icons.

Can’t you change the icons on those buttons? Maybe replace them with a text or letters?
How about “circle” and “arrow”
