Controlling an instrument or doofer macro with pattern FX

so i have instrument macro or doofer on first place in dsp and i do this in pattern editor

C-400 – -- – 1180

this will give me value of 50,196% on first knob in macro/doofer

this is not a problem in most cases but…

I setup my doofers / macros to have meaningful default value (50%) for example pitch shift macro

could it be wise to round 80 (in hex) to exact 50% ?

I find this irritating as well, I’ve come across it with plugins as well.

You have to use modulation envelope i guess.

Akiz: ye this is the way to go but setting macro per note is much easier inside pattern command

there are two possible workarounds that works for me (lets take pitch shift macro scenario):

  1. make macro that way so 50.196% is no pitch shift

  2. use doofer and remap range using min 0% max 99.610% so that 50.196% in doofer gets me even 50% in macro

The main purpose of this topic is to get devs opinion on this (no comment is also feasible opinion :))
