Selecting a portion of a sample and using ‘copy into new instrument’ in Renoise is straightforward as clearly a new instrument is created in the list of instrument and the selected portion of the sample is found in there.
In Redux, where did it go ? ‘copy into new sample’ works fine, but what about copying into an instrument ?
Also, when using the copy into a new sample, a new sample is created. After slecting that ne wsample, pressing the Z key on the keyboard will play the previous sample and that one. How to restrict playing only the new sample ? Does it have to be assigned a specific keyzone key ?

You can have multiple instruments side-by-side in Renoise, but not in Redux.
If this option existed it would have to copy the sample data, reset the instrument and insert the data - which would hardly be useful, or?

When using the PC keyboard (QWERTY), you are playing through the keyzone assignments. So, depending on how the keyzone is configured you might play overlapping samples, cycle through them or have them automatically assigned (drumkit mode).
In you case it sounds like Redux is playing the samples, overlapping style.
What you need to do instead is to use the “preview sample” shortcut. I think it’s usually assigned to Return, and available while the waveform editor is focused.
