Crash Reported While Shutting Down

Not a biggy but as it has reported a crash I thought I should post it here.

While trying to close Renoise I noticed the tab in the taskbar was still there after a much long time that usual so I tried clicking on it. After a couple of attempts it closes with a Windows warning saying the program had to be closed.

Since starting it up to quickly check something I had connected my Echo Indigo I/O while it was running (which should be set as default device) which may of been part of the cause.

Below is the log from this session. As I said it’s no biggy as it happened when trying to shut down anyway and is probably related to the hardware change.

“DirectSound: GetCurrentPosition failed with the error:-2005401480”
Might indeed be that the connection to the soundcard got lost somehow.

I guess you don’t have some energy mode turned on that allows Windows to put your soundcard in sleepmode. But if it is a usb device and got somehow disconnected or the USB channel disturbed, might also have been the culprit.

ExpressCard. Echo IOx. And it initially wasn’t plugged in but I connected it while Renoise was open. Wasn’t actually using Renoise, only opened it for a visual check on a feature, don’t believe I had any problems with audio from anything else I might of been using (which would of been on DirectSound too.)

Hadn’t tried playing anything so don’t know if audio had been killed. Hadn’t tried switching to the external cards ASIO or anything either.

On restarting Renoise both DirectSound and ASIO are fine.

As I said I doubt there’s anything you can, or even really should, do but as it reported a crash I thought I should mention it here. As it only happened after I tried to close the program one can only assume it would of allowed me to save, if need be, and thus with the audio being ok on restarting there is not that much more than can be asked for…
