Create a short VST note?

I have problems to understand, how I should achieve this.

With a moderate LPB setting as 4 I sometimes get the need make a shorter note than one line (or row). Let’s say half a line. Then I can’t use OFF. Ok. And it seems to me that effect 0CXY doesn’t work here, seems to work only on samples.

So, I can use the volume (velocity) command Cx. Now… what I don’t understand is this: In case I want to use a velocity (I do, e.g. for controlling filters on notes), then Cx is impossible too. Is there still a workaround then or will I need to tracker with a higher LPB?

The thing is… I want very, very short VST notes sometimes. I would need a very high LPB, too high.

Add a note column, and insert a note off with a delay value in the same row as the note you want to be short.

This seems not to be implemented. It’s kinda logic though. Like “if OFF but nothing there to turn off then try in the column to the left” … feature request ^_^… will break old songs… not coming soon…

I got excited when I read that solution but yeah it doesn’t seem to work.

…Oh, right I guess note offs can only turn off a note that’s directly above it.

edit: Ok what DOES work is using Cx in the volume column. 0Cxy only works on samples, but Cx in volume column works on VSTs too.

Cx also works in the panning column.

Since panning is not transmitted to VST synths anyway (it’s not part of the MIDI ‘note on’ event which is sent to the plugin), you can quite safely use it and keep the volume column free for your velocity commands.

The panning column is hidden by default, but you can toggle it with Ctrl+Shift+P, or via the pattern editor control panel.

Genial! :D(awesome, briliant or so) thanks so much
