Creating Effect Automations On The Fly?

Is it somehow possible to save actions on the effects while the track is running into an automation?
Is it then possible to save this automation and erase it to do another one, but still have the previous stored?

The reason I am asking is that I want to do some dub mixes with Renoise, and I just can’t get the feeling when I set these automations without listening to the track, that’s why I just want to have the track running and slide the faders of the effects and have it saved directly, so I can start the track again and listen to the stuff I just did.

Is this possible in renoise?

The other thing which I would like to know is if it is possible to stop the track and resume it at the same point without having my samples that started a few lines earlier missing. I know renoise is a tracker and not meant to deal with 3 minute or something samples but it would still be nice to get this working :D

cheers, c.

Yes, to record, move the slider with the right mouse button instead of the left.
