This is something I’ve been bothered with for over years
Sometimes renoise all of a sudden changes the undo command ctr-z into ctrl-w , changing win keyboard point doesn’t help
It’s really annoying since I have a couple of keybindings
That’s really weird. Do you use AZERTY? (I know you said changing keyboard doesn’t help, just wondering.)
I use qwerty
Ok so this is really driving me nuts .
I have a qwerty keyboard and my win version is dutch ( azerty based ) , so change the layeout to qwerty by using win+space bar , works a treat
If I do this when renoise is opened , I can clearly see that the undo changes from ctrl-z to control -w , when I change the qwerty layout back , renoise automatically adapts and ctr-w turns into ctrl-z again..all good
However, sometimes Renoise is stuck at ctrl-w and there is no way of changin it back to ctrl-z
Relaunching renoise doesn’t help etc..the only thing that helps is resetting the keybindings and loading my keybindings file
Drives me up against the wall
Here you can see in notepad I typed the words qwerty , no issues ( keyboardis set to qwerty )
Naming instruments , also no issues
BUt when I want to type in the “Z” command , it gives me “W”
Ok , so what decides renoise to have ctrl-w as default upon startup ?
If it’s the keyboard layout from within widows , then changing this would renoise to automatically adapt to the new layout ( qwerty ) ?
Which it doesn’t
The only remedy is to reset my keybindings , then renoise returns to ctr-z
It’s fucking annoying as hell.
Yeah it looks like Renoise’s “smart” layout detection is a bit wonky. Do you have per-app input method switching enabled? If you could just leave your keyboard on QWERTY for Renoise specficially I guess you wouldn’t have this issue.
Just regular win + spacebar shortcut
