Haha, that is in fact very cool. Depeche Mode were my first idols. I bought Some Great Reward as my first album ever back in 1984 when I was nine years old and because of them I have been completely obsessed by electronic music since then…

What a shame their last album is a noisy mess. I really don’t get it… Why would a group who did a mix as good as ‘Ultra’ end up doing something as fatiguing as this? I guess most people don’t seem to mind.

agreed, the latest album feels rather empty and soulless, as if they ‘did it for the EMI’, out of sheer contractual necessity.
Abundance of vintage analog gadgetry didn’t help one bit to make the record alive and breathing.
‘Playing the Angel’ was a masterpiece compared to this, while it was also soaked in noisy and crunchy processed electronics.
