I’ve noticed there are two devices I can use for controlling instruments. The manual doesn’t make it clear when I should be using which device.
What is the difference between the two devices?
Is there a performance benefit from using one or the other?

EDIT: I use both a synthesizer and a Kontakt library, if that helps.
