[done 3.1 b2] Copy into new instrument missing?

What happened to the “copy into a new instrument” option when right clicking a sample selection?

Yep, thought no one is going to miss it. Seems we’ve been wrong. Copy, select a new instrument and then paste of course still works.

Found this quite handy as well. After having recorded a bunch of sounds with my microphone i usually went through the recording and used this to copy interesting parts quickly into new instrument slots for later editing.

I had this bound to a shortcut :frowning:

I really hope this makes ti back for the official 3.1 release

I dont get why you get rid off old functions Taktik.
Renoise is very clean, it is not Reaper with thousands of option :).

Here is example of my workflow:

  1. I have some loop and i wanna hear how some samples would sound on the track
    2a) (In Renoise 2.8) I select some part and I experiment with “preview sample on specific note” by pressing enter OR
    2b) In 3.0 I copy this part into new instrument (i copy more samples than one usually), switch to it and play it on the keyboard

With 3.1 this is even more complicated. It doesnt make sense. Renoise should be sampler on steroids.

Btw. new version is amazing :-).
