Ticks are not shown only lines are shown. Ticks are interpreted however, but are not shown in the grid.
You can disagree about the zooming-mode is not there to fix this problem, but i can confirm the zooming mode has been implemented to overcome resolution problem of the automation window area regarding line view and handling.
