drift in renoise

(thanatos) #1

when you use as a synth like with this

AKWF Waveforms (4300 free samples)

it would be nice to have drift like in analog synth. this would mean a random slight modulation of pitch recalculate for each colonn (voice)

some ideas
(herodotas) #2

Just add random LFO to pitch in Instrument modulation tab.

(thanatos) #3

no it will not work it need random in each voices

(danoise) #4

As herodotas said, try adding a random LFO or stepper modulation device.

Modulation are processed polyphonically, DSP effects aren’t…

haven’t seen your post danoise great idea will test it now

edit i have tested and it don’t work because the modulation minimum is one semi tone whereas i’m talking about he drift of analog osc where it’s about 1% of modulation

One semitone - that’s rather rough don’t you think?

Most modulation devices allow very small values - and if you’re not satisfied with that, everything can be squeezed together even further by adding an operator as the last device, set to multiply by a low value.

Here’s an example demonstrating various ways to make an unstable oscillator:
