just thought I’d throw this topic out:

  1. Drum Creation -

  • I’ve used the VSTi called “Microtonic” in Renoise a few times, and its not too bad. It’s the only VSTi like that I know of, are there any others?

  • Other than that, right now I’m still comfortable with some of the .XI drum files that I have, does anyone have one that is a drum kit (like if you put midi in, it would play the drum-note, the snare and hihat all in one .XI)

  • I never really used madtracker that much, but i know it had a ‘drum pattern’ window. Is anything like this planned for Renoise?

The drum patterns in madtracker are very little used by most mt users. It’s a nice idea, but most rather have a few extra channels instead.

  • ErsDrums
  • Drumatic
  • Puff n Pys
  • Kick Me Too
  • Psy-Drums
  • DrumDragon

Of course you can search the site for commercial ones too.

Get SFZ (the freeware soundfont player from www.rgcaudio.com) and Natural Studio ns_kit (www.natural-studio.co.uk) for a good start. Many other good drumkit soundfonts can be found on pages listed on The infinite free SoundFont list.
