DSPs I'd like to see...

I’ve been attempting to make a bunch of stuff entirely in native Renoise and I am slowly realizing things I miss from using my normal set of VSTs. Out of that, I decided to compile a small list of things I’d REALLY like to see in Renoise…

Figured none of these would probably be able to be made/tested by 3.0, so I figured I’d just throw these ideas out here.

  1. A delay line granulator. Similar in nature to, say, argotlunar ( http://argotlunar.info )
  2. A pitchshifter.
  3. A new implementation of the long-deprecated “stutter”. I know we have the repeater, but the stutter has so much potential. I still use it and have even dedicated a doofer to it.

Meta bonus:

  • An inertial “Random” mode on the LFO.
  • An Audio -> Control “Sample and Hold”
  1. I have no idea what this does
  2. OMFG YES
  3. Yes
  • Yes… though interpolated random would be better than inertial, as the amplitude would be preserved
  • What would Audio → Control “Sample and Hold” do?

Yes.

  1. Download the plug and try it out. It’s lots of fun.
  • Audio → Control Sample and Hold would do what…an actual sample and hold does. It would output a quantized version of the input; but it would be used for control rather than outputting audio.
