I think it would be very helpful if we could do sweeps at +/- 1hz instead of the 20 some steps it makes now. I noticed the right button makes the step ~100-200(?), which seems too inaccurate for detailed work, and manually typing in frequencies is a real pain compared to simply sliding your mouse up and down until you find the frequency you want. This should be a simple change to make, I believe. What do you guys think?
It has been requested multiple times, the precise value thing on the sliders using the mouse is a known issue.
Specially if you want to move it to the pattern command. However response to the right mousebutton without moving the slider has been improved a little bit (rightclick does not necessarily moves the slider) but you have to fumble a bit with it, at least keeping the mouse hovering above the slider’s knob area.
It has been requested multiple times since 1.9 came out this morning(or whatever it was)? I didn’t see it in the topics. Then again, I didn’t break my back looking for it either. Feel free to delete this thread if it’s a dupe or doesn’t belong in this section.
I really can’t see any other practical way of doing frequency sweeps than using mouse. It’s not paramount that Renoise itself supports this, since there are other VSTs that can do the job, but it would be nice, and speak in Renoise’s favour, if it was natively supported.
hold ctrl + left mouse click for finetuning
I wasn’t aware that you could use Ctrl for that, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference with EQ10. It still skips roughly 40-45hz per step. Is it supposed to do that? And again, can that be changed for 1.9? I really think it’s way too much.
Edit: I’m catching mad flac from my friend here cause this is not clear enough. I’m talking about the parametric EQ. Frequency. Not dB. Not slider. Frequency. And Ctrl does not seem to work for that. So this is a bug report / feature request.
Also try one of these: ctrl-drag or alt-drag or ctrl-alt-drag or with shift etc. And also try them on the automation curves etc.
Thanks for the tip, but the problem is holding ctrl doesn’t do anything for this instance. Just in case more people misunderstand me. Here’s what I’m talking about.
I was told it actually works logarithmically, which is not a bad idea. Still, I’d like it if it was a more sensitive.
Ewps, yeah i understand that part here.
I currently use the preset option to store various configurations (click on the “Init” to see what i mean if you haven’t discovered that yet) so i can quickly load back saved configurations.
Another bunch of arrows for the custom frequency ranges would probably have quenched your desire.
Yes, or just using the mouse, which is the better option.
edit: All activity just stopped on this post. Does that mean no one gives a ****? If not: Is Ctrl(fine tuning) supposed to work for the abovementioned feature? As it is it doesn’t.
Bump
Made it twice as precise as before now, OK? Steps of ± 1Hz wont really work as the scaling is logarithmic…
Thanks mate! No need for a third party eq now
