With drawing now included in renoise, I would also like to see an eraser. This would be good for muting hits in drum loops. You wouldn’t even have to modify the gui, you could just put the eraser on the right mouse button instead.

Sorry for replying with a workflow but drawing a line is just the same as erase pieces.
Be sure to avoid clicks and fade in/out the silences. 
You guys should keep in mind that some people might find it incredibly difficult to draw a perfectly straight horizontal line at 0dB with their mouse. An erase function would be very simple to add, and undoubtedly very useful. Left-click to draw, right-click to erase, it makes perfect sense, and this logic already exists (and feels comfortable and natural) in many image editors.
Right-click to erase/mute gets a +1 from me.
