Error While Initializing App/os X Tiger 10.4.2

Hi there,

I just d/l the latest demo version, installed it, but, while launching, an error message comes up saying
that the resource IconsFolder_Closed.bmp couldn’t be loaded and that I should get
the latest installer.
Hm, I just got the latest installer.
Can someone please help!

Could you please try if you can open the bitmap file with finder?

“IconsFolder_Closed.bmp” can be found in “Renoise.app/Contents/Resource/Skin/Icons” inside the Renoise app bundle.

I know what the problems is.
I chose the “Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)” filesystem for my hd.
I suppose that whatever process is loading this and other files checks for certain filenames, but as they are named differently here /Applications/Renoise.app/Contents/Resources/Skin/Icons
I get error messages. I checked the filenames with Terminal and they differ.
E.g. “Folder_Closed.bmp” is actually “Folder_closed.bmp” and so forth.

So I changed all the names and Renoise starts up.
I hope that there won’t be a problem using Renoise because of the differing names.

Wouldn’t it be easier for the future to get those names correct for all those who use the Case-sensitive filesystem?

Wow. Thanks for the effort. We will fix this as soon as possible. Really strange that you are the first noticing this.

I didnt know that its possible to choose a CaseSensitive disk format in OS X. Ok, learned my lesson
