Norwegian news were full of articles about protecting your privacy - FACEBOOK WILL SELL YOU TO COCACOLA AND THE CIA!! (which one of course agrees to by accepting the terms of use, but no one reads)
Now? They’re full of ADD THIS TO YOUR FACEBOOK!!
Again… why do I care if the cia or cocacola know my music taste? … perhaps coca cola commercials will start sounding better. perhaps the cia will realize that school massacrists make up only a miniscule subset of KMFDM fans… I’m more interested in potential employers or clients making rash decisions about my character based on what I post on facebook. That being the case though, do I really want to be working for an employer that’s willing to judge me based on superficialities? And if I were really concerned, I simply wouldn’t post certain things… after all, Facebooks only knows what I tells it.
A bit partial to MDFMK, myself. 
And I worry more about worrying than about people seeing my picture or finding out about my dark, dark secrets.

Sure, you can use facebook in obscurity; but that in itself is a deeper acknowledgement of the fact of the matter, that the data gathered is used in ways you wouldnt really want it to be if it were involentarily gathered and accurate, per se.
I think theres a little sociopath in all of us though, who get off on trying to rig the system, and these volentary data mines are as good a place as any to get ones jollies.
I take all that big brother shit fairly seriously, not to the point of tin foil hats and conspiracy theory forums, but at least to the point of forming an oppinion where I’m presented with information.
