[fixed] Moving the Hold fader in AHDSR device causes distortion

Hi,

When a clean sample (no DSPs, VSTis or other manipulations) is played with the keyboard or as a note in the pattern editor, moving the Hold fader in a Volume AHDSR device while the sample is playing causes distortion. The effect can be produced within a range of 2 seconds after a sample has been triggered.

The behaviour can be reproduced as follows:

  1. Create a new song
  2. Load a random sample with a length >> 2 seconds (or loop shorter samples for a continuous stream of sound)
  3. Add an AHDSR device
  4. Add a Maximizer on the Master channel
  5. Play the sample with the keyboard or as a note in the pattern editor
  6. Increase the value of the Hold fader slowly or change rapidly between small and high values within the first 2 seconds after triggering the sample.

One would expect that changing the AHDSR parameters cannot produce volumes way louder than the maximum volume of the original sample itself.

I’m using Renoise 3.0.1 with Windows 10 Home (x64) and the Yamaha Audiogram 3 (driver V1.9.5) as audio interface.

Thank you very much for looking into this!

Marek

Thanks for the detailed report. Happens when modulating hold while the AHDSR is decaying and in ms mode. Fixed that now.
