It would be great to have FM and maybe ringmod on samples built-in to instruments. I use this all the time in the Ableton sampler.
you can use native instruments fm 7 as an insert effect, now that renoise supports triggering of vst effects

Ringmod is native.
As a track effect though, it can’t track the pitch of the instrument the way the Ableton sampler does.
True, maybe it can be implemented in 2.1. 
It would be nice to have more modular functioning effects in general.
