FR: Lazy chop (insert slice markers with midi)

Hey, is there a way to have following functionality in Renoise?

  • load sample
  • play sample (one-shot) root note
  • create/insert slice markers with midi input while sample is being played

how hard would it be to have it natively, and/or is this even possible with tools?

This would fit the keyboard focused ethos pretty well.

As of now the barriers to this seem to be that ctrl+k to insert marker doesn’t follow the playhead and if you insert with the mouse while it’s playing, the playback stops. Unless there are indeed some scripting tricks to get around this or something I missed…
