I just discovered this excellent free emulation of the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer, and from the same devs, the Tomato tube emulation preamp for acoustic instruments.
Both are great in different ways for adding subtle saturation, warmth, and fatness to all kinds of signals. There are several other interesting free emulators there that are geared towards metal guitarists, but they could be well used to add some nice edge to whatever you’re playing. Check it out…
