GUI : keyzones & bottom keyboard

Hey,

not really a “bug”, it’s not crashing Renoise, but it somehow affects the workflow with the new sampler system.

In the past (renoise 2.8.1) the virtual keyboard was located just under the sample keyzones, and notes of this virtual keyboard were correctly aligned with the keyzones’ grid.

Now with Renoise 3.0, the virtual keyboard appears on the bottom of the new “sampler” tab ;cool, but the problem is that it’s not displayed correctly, first of all it’s not located under the keyzones tab, and it’s not correctly aligned with it ; it’s moved on the right side, there’s a 1 key horizontal distance between the C-0 keyboard position and the keyzones C-0 grid position. ?!?

Could it be possible to :

  • display the keyzones tab at the bottom of the list AFTER, waveform, modulation, and effects ?
  • display the virtual keyboard precisely under the keyzone tab with the right alignement like in the 2.8.1 release ?

Also, right clicking on the keyboard to set the base note doesn’t seem to work anymore.

Indeed, this new virtual keyboard needs some slight adjustments to work correctly.

I’ve found some workarounds by zooming a lot the keyzone editor while working with it, so that I can “see” the names of notes and precisely the space where base notes can be edited, but I lose sight on the global keyzone setup…

I’m a piano keyboard user, and it’s much more intuitive to use the virtual keyboard as a reference than to use “note names” …

Yeah +1. Now low piano keyboard useful only for phrase choice, but it useless for any sample mapping manipulation. The Renoise 2.8.2 shown it in more comfortable way - (from top to bottom) keyzones, piano keys (zooming the same as keyzones area), params.
