have 20 .xm's, how to batch-extract to .wav?

hi, i’ve got 1997-1998 .xm files that i just used to sample cds + etc with FT2 with, and am wondering how to easily convert the contents of these files to .wav?

Edit: Deleted my post. I read your question wrong. That’s what happens when I get 3 hours of sleep and then try to go to work… :wacko:

Edit2: To answer your actual question, it looks like Awave Studio might be able to do this. It even has a 30 day trial version according to the website

This is not an answer to your question :)

But I would download DOSBOX and FT2 and render them “natively” from there, to make sure that you get the tracks rendered properly.

thanks… i was merely speaking of .xms that have say 20-60 samples, some with loops (forward, pingpong)… and how to just press a button and get the samples within the .xm’s saved to a harddrive… not the song tracks (stems)… not the song… the .xms have no pattern data, just samples…

I guess there’s still no way of extracting them to wavefiles with loops? am having the same issue with scream tracker sample mono 8bit unpacked and impulse tracker sample 8bit mono too.

aaargh

Load it in Renoise and save the wave files from there and it will keep the loop. As there is no active modulation the wave files should sound the same as the source.

Alternatively put them all in an xrni and extract all as flac.

Hmm, okay. That’s a solution, I guess, for XM->XRNS. However - what about the IT/ST3 sample formats… :slight_smile:

If Renoise can’t read the module file i guess you could do the same with OpenMPT or some other tracker.

Once you load the .xm in Renoise, can’t you use this tool to batch extract the instruments to .wav’s?

I’ll give it a shot! I hope it’s good.

oouchh… Seems like it saves everything an octave higher than it’s supposed to. But seems like this’ll save me some time anyway. Loops are there.
