I just picked renoise up and im watching a tutourial. When i try to do a trigger slice and then interpolate the values it doesent work. What am i doing wrong?

The usual reason interpolation “does nothing” for someone new is that it only fills the rows between two values in the same column, and it needs both ends to exist. So you need a value on the first row, the same column, and a second value further down — then select from the first to the last row and interpolate. If only one end has a value, or your two values are in different sub-columns (note vs. instrument vs. effect vs. volume/panning), nothing happens and you get no error, which makes it look broken.
The other trap with slice triggers specifically: slices are triggered as notes, and notes aren’t interpolated the way numeric columns are. If you’re trying to ramp through slices, put the ramp in an effect/parameter column rather than expecting the note column to interpolate. That mismatch catches basically everyone once.
Concrete check: type a value in the volume column on row 00, another on row 0F, select those rows in that column only, then interpolate. If that works, the feature is fine and it’s a selection/column issue on the pattern you were working with rather than a bug.
Also worth naming which tutorial you’re following and its timestamp, because a few older ones show the pre-slice-marker workflow and the steps genuinely don’t match current Renoise.
I figured it out! I had it in the wrong column so it was S0 00 instead of S 00. I appreciate your help. Thank you!
