Help Shortcuts Not Working after installing Firefox 3

Hi,

after installing Firefox 3, the various Help shortcuts in the Renoise menu stopped working

I’m not 100% sure if it’s really caused by Firefox 3, but I haven’t installed or changed anything else in that time, so it seems likely…I have F3 set as default browser and it works in other cases when an external app wants to open a shortcut, so it looks like a Renoise problem.

Since installing FF3 I cannot get URL links in Thunderbird to open FF3.
FF3 is set as default browser. Anyone else found this behaviour?

Yep–in fact, I used to have the same problem in FF2 occasionally too.

What helps is to go into Windows XP Folder Options. Then for each
file type (including blank) that would be opened as an HTML page, click
on “Advanced” to bring up the “Edit File Type” dialog box. Then in
there, click on “Edit…” to bring up the “Editing Action” dialog box.
And deselect the checkbox called “Use DDE”.

In other words, don’t go through DDE to open FF and you’ll be better off.

Unfortunately, said fix doesn’t work for me.

I disabled DDE for Firefox URL and URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol. After reopening the properties for any of both entries, DDE is re-enabled.

We (others will as well) read the default browser command from the registry at: “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/http/shell/open/command”

This is set to IExplorer here, while it should be Firefox3…
