i really wanna get a Panning LFO Modulation going in the Modulation Mappings of the Instrument - but i don’t know how to do this, since the +

and others just confuse me.
what’s the go-to-route for getting a really slow panning going on with modulation devices, please?
ok it seems like this is the route.
now, if i have a sample playing, and the panning lfo is deactivated, and i activate it… what’s gonna happen then? will it not pan, until the next time the note is triggered?

If you want it to oscillate in the middle of the note, your best bet is to map the amplitude parameter to a macro knob (see the ‘macros’ button slightly up and left of the modulation window). Once you’ve mapped it, go to the track you’re using to play this instrument and insert an ‘instrument macros’ device. This will let you access that macro knob for the track. Now you can record automation of that macro, controlling the amplitude and get that sound panning anywhere you want.
If any of that sounds complex, it’s simpler than it sounds over text. Just give it a try. I love doing this to get my sounds moving.
mm, i get what you’re saying… i went a simpler route, i.e. a pre-selected/pre-loaded xrni that has a lfo set to control panning from middle to up-down using a sinewave. and a method for hitting that device from anywhere, to set it’s settings quickly.
that way i don’t need to sacrifice a macro knob, or set an instr macros device to the track.
thanks for your answer anyway, if renoise ever introduces 16 macros, i’ll be sure to look at this again!
