How Do You Guys Go About Bouncing Down Channels/tracks?

Ok, so when making my music I layer up quite a few different hits over breaks.
My questions is how can a bounce down say all of my snares to a single file/sample?
I don’t want to record them with SoundForge, there must be a better way.

At the moment I think you can only render one channel right? If you could render the output of multiple channels to one sample slot that would obviously do it.

How do you guys go about this?

As I make Drum & Bass I often layer like 4-5 snares , each with different qualities and combined with multiple kicks etc the number of channels can start to get out of hand.

Cheers guys

Simply drag a selection around all the notes/channels you want then render that to a sample slot.

Brilliant!!! I didn’t know that you could do that!!!

Thanks

Just tried to do that on 4 different channels with Breaks in and it’s only rendering one channel to a sample slot.

Do you know why?

Are any of the channels being routed to a send channel? If so you will need to include the send channel in the selection also, which makes this technique a little awkward. In those situations it may be easier to simply mute all the channels you don’t want, then use the normal DiskOP>Song>Render method and render only the pattern you are working with.

This is where a more flexible selection routine would come in extremely useful, ie. being able to select one area of the pattern, then using a modifier key such as ctrl to allow you to select other unconnected areas. Similar to the way you can select multiple files in Windows explorer and other applications, for example.

If you are not using any sends then I’m not sure what could be happening.

.

mark part of pattern & hit ctrl+shift+alt+r :)
