How Does The 'process Track Fx' Button Work?

Very rarely, when I hit the ‘process track FX’ button in the sample editor, I get a BSOD referencing my sound card’s driver as causing the fault. It doesn’t seem to be affected by certain plugins/DSPs and it just happened for the first time in Beta 4.
This is strange, since I assumed that ‘process track FX’ is like an offline render using only the CPU. Why would it upset my sound card driver?

What does the log say? Maybe you can post its content in this thread?

The BSOD? It says something about a bug check and ha20x2k.sys, which is part of Creative’s drivers for the 1212m

Event viewer says this:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000028, 0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000001, 0xfffff88006c9ca2e). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 010212-45396-01.

Are you perhaps using a Line-In Device somewhere in your chain, or elsewhere in your song?

I was using the maximiser DSP on a stereo recording of a gig that I engineered. No plugins, no other DSPs, no other samples.

The recording was quite big, a 480MB WAV but that shouldn’t make any difference seeing as I have 8GB of RAM?
