How to get akai midimix buttons to light up on Renoise on cue?

hi, i have an Akai MIDIMIX - it’s pretty neat.
apparently some of the buttons can be made to light up.

what’s the direct method for getting a button to light up from Renoise - please don’t tell me “Duplex”. i need the simplest method of getting one to light up.

you’ll send out a note on (with the note or cc number) with velocity at 127, and a note ON (not off) at with velocity at 0 to turn back off.

thank you. unfortunately i’m about to start Paketti demo at http://synthcamp.org so can no longer start setting it up, but i will definitely do it afterwards asap

wow, this was stuck in draft mode for 2 days?

ok, i’m on it. thanks. so…

this is about matching the CC or note, to the button in the Akai MIDIMIX - so whatever it’s set to, you send to the midi output device of that same name.

so f.ex. Note On, 127 velocity for toggling it on
Note On, 0 velocity for toggling it off

so in this case, i’d be sending out a CH1 CC62 at 127 velocity to toggle the button ON, and CH1 CC62 at 00 velocity to toggle the button OFF.

iirc , you have to send “note on” frame to turn it on (velocity 127) or off (vel 0) no matter if the switch is set to send a note or a cc.
