I can’t find any option in settings or a button which would allow me to turn on the feature which allows Renoise to play an instrument automatically when I select one with a mouse in an instrument panel. There had been such a button in Ren 2.xx next to the instrument panel I think before R 3 came out…
To play the currently selected instrument is the standard behavior in Renoise, and applies to both QWERTY and MIDI input.
Maybe you accidentally enabled ‘Auto Capture Instrument’ (this will cause the instrument to change according to the position in the pattern), or - if you are using a MIDI keyboard - have set up a specific MIDI input port in the instrument’s MIDI page?
Edit: or do you mean that it actually plays a note when you select the instrument? This feature is only available for samples in the Disk Browser, and enabled/disabled via the prehear icon (a little speaker)
Yeah, I meant that ‘prehear’ function button (which was) somwhere nearby an instrument panel but is not there anymore, the very same which is in a Disk Browser section…Iam pretty sure it was in Renoise 2.xx somwhere around the instrument box/panel area as well (not only in a disk browser)…coz now every time I want to find out what sample I have there I have to go to Instrument Panel, select an instrument/sample and hit the key…
