I wonder if it would be somewhat possible to have one track with notes, which then plays two vstis…
Let’s say there was a MIDI VSTi generator plugin which simply passes thru midi, could this midi generator used by multiple instruments then?

EDIT: Ah, oh, damn, the “MIDI routing” is an output, not an input! What a pity…
Nevermind then…
It’s not possible , only one midi channel can be adressed from a midi enabled vst
It’s a shame really because plugdata and loomer architect can essentially control everything from instance
Been asking for it for years
Yes, it’s quite a pity. If that slot was not a output, but instead an input, the problem was already solved. Then you would instead select the sending instrument in the receiving one. Therefore you could send to multple ones.
In certain areas renoise is really lacking and it seems to be staying that way , dev. focus lies elsewhere …cough
Good morning, on the other hand, I assume that the current structure was designed for good reasons. Currently the encapsulation of settings is nicely done, each to where it belongs. If that selectbox was set on the receiver instead, each type of instrument would have to provide such a selectbox. So this wouldn’t be coherent totally with Redux then.
Maybe instead, there could be a checkbox like “pass thru notes”, and every instrument being capable of note reaction would then have said “MIDI routing” selection (plus the checkbox). Then you maybe could serially chain the instruments. Just like old MIDI
Didn’t expect to get nostalgic for midi thru ports this morning… Must be getting old lol
There must be a good reason why it’s not possible to layer/stack/keymap synth plugins in an instrument slot, just like you do with multi-samples.
