hi what’s the native device workflow for setting below 80hz content, on master, to mono?
It’s probably not the best way, but I group everything and send that with a Multiband send. Then I use a Stereo Expander set to mono on the low split.
i was hoping there’d be a master device chain i can put in
Hi, this one works well and is free:
I think you want this
Yes, just use Basslane as Denim suggested, or A1 Stereo Tool, both free. Basslane provides some advanced compensation stuff, too. There is no native/vanilla easy way to do this, you will then have to mess with send channels. Also keep in mind, that the band split send will alter the phase quite a lot (this is normal) and changes the transients of the audio. The above plugins more work like a flat hp filter on the side. If Renoise EQ also had a M/S mode, this would be easily doable, too, only using a single native device.
The gainer device or track utility ideally should have a bass mono switch and crossover frequency.
I just make sure all my low frequency elements are mono from the get go, then do multiband processing for stereo width in the mids and highs as desired
