Here’s a doofer with a visual approach using a custom LFO to create the trancegate effect:http://forum.renoise.com/index.php/files/file/685-trancegate/

Resolution is low, but can be increased with more points in the Custom LFO.

On facebook, I also said, “meta plugin; signal follower.” Which I will often use if I want to gate a pad with say hihatz or bassline

This was really not that smart when i come to think about it, the chain cannot be inside a doofer because you’re then unable to reset the LFO to get in sync.

I added a new version of the trancegate:http://forum.renoise.com/index.php/files/file/685-trancegate/

It solves the reset problem and i also added two different examples to how you can automate it. You can also combine these two automation techniques by turning on and off the Key Tracker,
