am i correct in thinking that this will work on any Debian-based system? i’m running Crunchbang here which is Debian-based so i should be able to use this as well, right?

Hi rhowaldt. This should work for other Debian-based systems. Perhaps there are some small differences, but yes, feel free to give it a try!

Hi, we just updated both tutorials (moved them to GitHub) and added new sections to the second part of the tuning tutorial:

  • Disabling CPU frequency scaling for maximum system performance, - Setting up the granularity of the rtc and timer clocks, - Disabling PulseAudio autospawn, - Fine-tuning the PCI bus latency timers.
Feel free to give it a try and please report back you fail/success stories.

Just finished the third part of the tutorial (mainly for Sound Blaster Live!/PCI 512/Emu APS/Audigy) owners:
