Kazaa is crap, there are a lot of Kazaa-imposters around that install your PC with a lot of shit. Any unaware user that uses google for it won’t pick the page that contains the original clean Kazaa as it’s not on top of the list in google.
Be happy to have the luck to be able to browse the internet.
Try to download a key activator, even though you have already legally done everything, you won’t be able to fix this without that.
You might want to try using start->run->“msconfig” and uncheck dubious startup programs. (it shows a lot more that only the startup folder of your program files reveals)
download windows defender from the Microsoft site and update it and let it scan through your pc. You can at least start in safe mode, this is also the best option to run windows defender and virus scanners.
See how far this gets you.
I’m pretty sure you can still activate the code by phoning up microsoft, and when they complain that your hardware setup has changed or whatever (which they can see by something in the activation code) tell them you upgraded your graphics card and added more RAM, and keep getting viruses so need to reinstall or some shit (this story has worked for me for one copy of XP across 3 different motherboards with completely different configurations…FYI the licence for XP is valid only for use on the original motherboard it was installed with, technically it should follow this motherboard till it dies then you’d need to buy another copy…pff)
yeah, if you choose activation by phone and call microsoft and tell them that you had to reinstall your comp or somehting they will let you activate again…
And yes, i think your girlfriend didnt install real kazaa… I have kazaa lite on my comp without any spyware or virus problems… (i have dual boot of course, one OS for music apps and other important stuff and the other OS for games, kazaa etc etc)
As you own the original, the hint that was given by alexstrain is totally right. You can call Microsoft and tell them a funny story about how you updated some stuff and now your windows refuses to run.
one really has to wonder sometimes what people are thinking. Installing stuff on a person’s computer without his/her knowledge and permission is IMHO really just rude.
YEah in case that doesn’t scare enough, drop a few naked power-wires around with a warning sign:high voltage.
The shock will punish unwanted users enough.
Spybot and ad-aware ain’t got what it takes any longer, Windows Defender (or PKA Microsoft Anti Spyware) removes what they forget.
Ad-aware even even decreased in quality-updates where it removed a lot more spyware in the past.
