Hello fellows, this is an EP I made recently with renoise
I always think it’s humorous when people ask what genre their song is. It generally doesn’t happen by accident. Reminds me of people who say they don’t lift weights because they don’t want to get bulky and huge… don’t worry, you won’t! the point being that to fit your music within the confines of a genre, you have to work really hard to constrain and channel the natural creative impulse, which is a double-edged sword…
(Attempting) to work within certain genres has forced me to learn a lot that I probably either never would have otherwise happened upon on my own, or accelerated the learning process greatly, at least as far as those specific, genre-related skills and sounds are concerned.
That said, I think you guys all have it right. What’s the point of sounding like someone else? Always bring your own creative take and flair to whatever you create, even if you’re trying to write in a certain sound-world. Just keep striving to make the best music you can ![]()
ongaku dark ambient patch, no renoise, lol ![]()
also, wonky lil dub song, all renoise:
Ongaku is a beast like all from Giorgio ![]()
I like Bento coz of Merzbow.
another new one, genre mashing https://on.soundcloud.com/HJscK

New album. Ambient/dark-ambient/experimental. Majority sequenced/designed in Renoise, then further processed in Reaper. Lot of Puremagnetik DSPs used, as well as Voxengo for mastering.
General feel of the album, “He sat alone in the darkness of his room with the curtains drawn, slowly crumbling into dust… and yet he could feel the warmth of the sunlight upon his face; he simply could not see it”
lovely. nice work here…
hi … here is an ep i made pretty much entirely in renoise ; the tempo automation stuff i did in fl studio cuz the time stretching algorithm is better for stretching entire songs from an ease of use perspective … everything else is renoise tho ; its my favorite thing ive released probably (but stuff im working on right now is prolly better…)

this song is awesome…the melody is great it reminds me of a lot of 2010s netlabel stuff i really like
the genre question is funny to me because i used to wonder that myself , and then i stopped caring … but then people started asking me what genre i make and i dont know , i usually just tell people “i dont know”, or “dance music” or i make up a genre name . i think its more fun that way anyway … obviously its perfectly fine to work within genre confines on purpose (i agree with someone in this thread who said it teaches you things) and a lot of the best music ever was purposefully made to fit into a genre category , theres no right or wrong way to go about approaching genre as long as youre enjoying yourself
if i had to nail it down to a genre (which i dont really do when i think about music unless someone asks me to give them recommendations for stuff in a certain genre…and even then i dont really care and just try to fit a vibe) i would say it fits into synthwave, but im mostly feeling that from that (bass?) synth with a consistent rhythm …other than that it feels pretty outside of synthwave stylistically, which is cool cuz i usually dont like that stuff haha
anyway sick song
So I downloaded Renoise yesterday. This my burf of an attempt of a … something

Enjoy?
something acoustic from me for a change ![]()
Hi. I have a new album called ‘Life Speedrun’. All Renoise except mastering which was done in Reaper. Mostly deep / progressive house I guess. Long songs but that’s the way I like it.
VERY nice. 7 minutes isn’t long compared to Bedrock’s 1995-2005 output lol. Wonderful track, congrats.
Edit: bought the EP, really nice work. Totally my kinda music.
Great stuff man very well produced.
Thanks! I feel that I have managed to really improve technically with this album. So glad you liked it! ![]()

Man that **-will i find you-**went straight to my heart.Wrote some lyrics for it and started humming stuff. If something sticks i ll let you know.My lyrics have a different title though, when i find you.
When i find you it will be a different story
i ll be around you, every minute every day
i will hug you ,everything will come our way
when i find you
i will never let you go
Relatively long without being too long, it’s not unusual in terms of this style.
Nice production, only the hats are too loud. Through speakers they seem to be twice as loud as the rest. In this particular case I would prefer your older productions, which have a better balance in terms of the high ends. I’m thinking of your album “Random Works” (“Bring Out Your Cursed” is my favorite) and stuff like that. And I’ve seen that your SC account, similar to mine, seems to be relatively unknown, which has to change. There are tracks you’ve posted 3 years ago and they have less than 10 plays, which is unbelievable, even if you would be very inactive on SC just like me. Those tracks are constantly good. You should post more often, at least in a forum like this one. Especially if you also want to sell your music, which obviously is the case.
Both songs are really good. “Will I Find You” is more my taste, and the video fits quite well. Great images of nature, I assume it’s Scandinavia. It doesn’t look like America or Russia, and it must be a country I’ve never been to. Well done, sir! Now just decrease the volume of the hat respectively the shaker and it’s “perfect”.
You should write more music in general. Once you’ve told somebody to make music every day. What about you? It’s been a while. No time left? But yeah, this year is really fucked up music-wise. I could also finish only 4 tracks, because I don’t have time, too. But I’ll probably post another one within the next weeks. ![]()
Oh wow! So beautiful lyrics man. Can you sing? Maybe you could send me the vocals sometime? That would be awesome! And it’s so nice to hear that you liked the song
I was scared that the song was a bit too strange… ![]()
