I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Nice track, gives off an old arcade vibe. The bass is good, but the plucky melody from 0:26 can be repetitive. Appreciate the sawy synth at 1:35 and the bridge’s pads. I suggest increasing the kick’s volume or add slight sidechaining. The intro seems a bit plain and slightly disharmonious with the backdrop synth. Those elements do make sense together as the song progresses though.

A new track from my side…! Curious what you think. It was made with Renoise, and some VSTs (mainly Arturia.) Lots of one-shot samples (drums, FX, other elements) used from Loopcloud and Maschine expansion.

Thanks for listening. The saw synth is just two saw waves loaded into the sampler. Good point with the intro. Will listening in the car tomorrow. Kick bass sidechaining is already there, but I trigger an eq below 100 Hz not a compressor.

Ok right. I would like a little bit of a click when the kick hits, right now it is a little soft because it mainly hits on the low frequencies. But perhaps it is what you were going for as well, so it is somewhat subjective

Love it! The bass is killer and the mix is very tight. Also the vocals are cool. Kind of a mixture between IDM and Hip Hop. Doesn’t get boring!

Thanks!! I was indeed going for some mix between IDM and Hip Hop. Had been listening a lot to Ivy Lab in particular during the last week, so I think they inspired me somewhat.

Love that trailer. I’m a cyberpunk fan and theres not many games that do it justice. That trailer has great composition and the style I really appreciate. It has a look of modern equipment but with a near future style.
Keep going!

Perhaps still fun to recover, pimp in Renoise with vst? :sunglasses: If you haven’t already, modarchive is a great site to back up .mods for everyone to check, rip, remix and learn from; The Mod Archive v4.0b - A distinctive collection of modules

I’d still digitize them for historical sake  , second hand tape decks are pretty cheap here on auction sites. If you are into digging, it is quite fun sample source.

You probably already asked for help on all the amiga forums? When you say, stop booting, do you get any error notice, does it still make sound? Is it stuck in some kind of validation loop? If this is the case, and you haven’t already tried it, perhaps running disksalv from disk during boot can fix such validation error. I’ve also read posts about if the harddisk logistics board is fried, you can try looking for an exact same version of your harddisk and swap the board to try and make it work. Better consult the pro’s on the forums though.

A recent remix project I did. all native renoise

I have used SuperCard Pro to digitize Amiga disks directly to the PC. From there I have used emulation to transfer mods. See also:

No, I stopped dealing with it at one point. Time is very short and I’m even happy if I have my rest for a couple of hours, and within these couple of hours I stringently need literally to rest or to do things that distract me from daily life or that counteracts aging and helps to keep the shape as far as possible, just like sports. And because of that short time I prefer to create new stuff than trying to restore old stuff. But I would pay somebody for dealing with it. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, 22 years ago I’ve recorded some relevant MODs (my best Acid track of the 90s for example) on MiniDisc, but guess what!? I can’t find the fucking disc anymore. I moved several times and seemingly this disc somehow got lost. Of course I could let somebody repair my tape deck or I could buy another one, but what for? For a couple of tapes with some MODs (not the ones I primarily was looking for) and/or some old tapes with recorded radio music? I want my MODs as files.

I don’t know, the last time I tried was 21 years ago. But as far as I remember there is no sound anymore. And I don’t get any error notice. The drive usually started to run after reseting the Amiga for one time. I’ve got a friend who started his career by using Commodore computers, and now he’s a world leading computer expert in terms of security, hacking and programming, and if one day there’s some time left and he’s back in town (he lives in another country now) he will have a look. Unfortunately I neither have time nor nerves for solving technical issues with stored retro computer stuff.

I like the dark atmosphere, which is darker than your usual stuff. Of course I can’t say anything about the remix because I don’t know the original.

Who is “our”? Your “Children Of The Stars” reminds me of 70s/80s synthesizer music, similar to Jean Michel Jarre or Laserdance. Your compositions and mixes are good. Well done.

I think it’s pretty good! The style is not my cup of tea, but I like the composition and the mix. Everything fits and the mix is clean, well done.

I agree with @vacuum_collapse regarding the kick. A slight “click” or “noise” would be nice. The style is Electronic, but I can’t name a specific genre. Any tips to get this better? Use VSTis instead of samples.

I repair electrical tools for a living and i find the most frequent problem is a broken cable, but you have probably checked this already?
If it’s not your cable and it makes no sound it’s most likely the power supply. Commodore machines were known for power supplies that was prone to overheating, so that’s my guess.
You could most likely fix it by ohming the transformer to identify wich lead is broken, unwind it untill you find the break, solder it together and wind it back together.
Or find a proper replacement part on ebay. Take to a workshop if you don’t have the time, tools or skills to do it yourself. I can’t imagine it will be that expensive.

Thanks for your hints! Yes, back then the first thing I did is to check the connections, but I couldn’t find anything unusual. I don’t remember if the drive has its own power supply, but I don’t think so. The Amiga was working normally except the hard drive, which didn’t boot anymore after reseting the computer. Loading from disk worked normally. And yes, I will have to find somebody who knows Amiga stuff and can solve technical issues. The only one I know is the friend I’ve mentioned, but there must be repair shops, too. I’ve found one in Berlin, but I just don’t want to send the Amiga including personal data on the drive across the country and/or in the middle of nowhere.

Nice, dark and spacious remix you did there @slujr. Neat stuff!

I had a listen to the original and it’s clear you’ve fed the track psychedelic drugs and asked it to do an impression of you.
