I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Its free for ever and you can upload any number of tracks and you can make real money in youtube if you make the effort

Dont think so.A good videoclip and a good thumbnail for it will get more attention

Real money in YouTube by posting music? Monetization by following all the policies forever? Yes, maybe if you reach at least 500 subscribers that watched 3000 hours of your videos at best within 90 days. Not very realistic for a hobby musician that makes music no one knows about, regardless if there are videos or not. And even if there are videos, no one will watch them without finding and liking the music first. No one’s looking for videos in this regard, it’s about the music. And that music can only be found by accident, unless one already knows exactly what one’s searching for. It’s way easier to be found on SoundCloud than on YouTube due to likes, reposts and followers within the ā€œcommunityā€. And it’s free as well, the limitation of webspace isn’t a bad thing because no one’s listening to hundrets of songs of unknown artists. The limitation forces everyone to keep it small, clean and attractive by maintaining the overview. IF one wants to make some small pocket money by posting music, Bandcamp is the one. YouTube is, if anything, an addition. But yes, you can post your music there and use it as an archive, whether if there’s an animated video or not. No one cares. It doesn’t improve the music.

I clearly said above if you make the effort you can make money on YouTube.YouTube has the advantage that you can present yourself to the public not only posting your music but doing other stuff too, tutorials, breakdowns etc. This is how you ā€œmake itā€ in this day and age, music by itself does not cut it unless you are already a big name in the industry.

Thats 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months for videos or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days.

In one of my first Youtube channels i made an experiment when i started it,i posted all kinds of shit as shorts and went from 8 subs to 4.000 in less than a month and over 10 million views in 2 months so it can work if you put the effort. That was for the audience here in Greece wich is very small, imagine if i made the vidoes in English! I uploaded videos every single day ,its not an easy task but if you want to succeed thats how you do it.

So you’re basically telling me that if you’re changing the game you can make it on YouTube. You cannot make it by posting music alone as intended, but if you do tutorials and stuff EVERY SINGLE DAY instead, you might get some attention. It could happen, but even then there’s no guarantee. But the point is having a platform where you can get some attention by posting your music only. No hobby musician that needs to work in daily life could post tutorials and stuff every single day, not to mention the fact that most musicians aren’t interested in making tutorials as well or posting personal informations online. Time is short. If you could make serious money or even a living by posting tutorials, @slujr for example must be a rich man. And if you had personal success on YouTube, why didn’t you continue? Btw, personally I think if you would have posted your shorts in English, there would have been less people interested, because there are millions of videos in English, and those videos are getting lost in the shuffle. But it’s way harder to find stuff in Greek, so as a Greek it’s way more interesting to watch rare greek stuff, isn’t it?

Haha, not quite. I have much to be thankful for in life but YT renoise tutorial money is not one of them. It’s a niche market and I’m far from a consistent ā€œcontent creator.ā€

But, there is definitely money to be made on YT! Just probably not through renoise tutorials lol

It was an experiment. As i said i posted shitt stuff not things i liked to do.It was not satisfying for me so i stopped. The channel is still up and i post videos i like regularly but very few people watch it, i dont mind.Pursuing money or a carrer was never a priority for me in life .

Another thing i noticed after my subscription ran out is that all the tracks SC distributed to other services like Spotify and Apple Music are being pulled once you stop paying for SC subscription. I wasn’t aware of that, but i have only distributed 1 track as a test a while ago, so it doesn’t affect me much. It would be a bummer if i had a whole lot of tracks distributed though.

Yes, but music production in general is a niche market. Whether you’re using hardware, DAW or just your mouth, it doesn’t matter, no more tutorials required. YouTube is already oversaturated with ā€œtutorialsā€ for music production, and btw most of them suck.

No money, no life, that’s a sad but true fact. If you can make some money by posting shit on the side without any effort, why not? Exploit idiocy as long as you’re not hurting anyone.

So it’s as pathetic as DistroKid. I would never subscribe to anything, but thanks for the information.

I’m actually looking into different ways to make some money on the side, small seeds here and there. I doubt it will be the music that brings in money, but I’m working on some other things on the side. I’m sniffing on the game industry, both slowly developing a game and creating game assets. Lately though, I’ve been hooked on generating AI videos, small documentary style jokes of absurd comedy. So, the plan is to release one every week on YouTube Shorts and see, maybe one day they start rolling.

As long as i can just pay my bills every month and have enough money to get by i dont really care for more but i make some little extra money through football betting

A couple of months ago I saw an interview with a wealthy teen that’s making money by programming games for Roblox, and he’s also using AI for the code. So as an AI enthusiast who’s about to develop games on the side, maybe try Roblox or similar, even if it’s 100% crap.

Yeah, you’re doing right. Don’t need anything except peace and quiet, food and drinks, a computer, video games, weights and weed.

Did for a short time when i was young but it didint ā€œagreeā€ with me

THis is my ā€œpoisonā€.Tsipouro!!!

No problem as long as you know your limits. The dose makes the poison. I don’t take poison, but natural medicine now and then. No drugs and alcohol at all. When I’m retiring I’ll probably grow my own stuff. 3 plants per person are allowed by law.

I use Renoise even for creating sound effects… 1st create audio (in RNS) then video  (in Adobe etc.). Here is my latest Xample: Running Snake (Ide Zmija): https://youtube.com/shorts/Q2AgNZkS1XE?si=oWIklRwJ2adwBCPL

I am trying to get final output in Renoise (still some noise here but overall - maximized sound but little distorted). What do you think?
