It is all done in Renoise Sampler. The sources are from an ancient sample cd from the early 2000s. It just has one shots, single articulation, single velocity. 2 or 3 samples per octave. Very limited. So I spent a lot of time trying to make convincing (enough) round robins. Lots of faders, LFOs and velocity trackers.
For the long strings I just took a couple of cycles of the waveform. Loop it to get the right sound but not the shape of the sample. And made a whole new instrument out of it. Again just ADSRs, faders LFOs and velocity trackers. Lot’s of fun!
Then I used the volume column for expression.

It sounds quite a bit like a Koto, yes. I love that sound. Anyway, the file name says it is a Kanuun. Which is the Arabian version of a Koto, I guess? You can see an image of one here on wikipedia.

Could not sleep so decided to “finish” (=get out of mind) this one.
Started this around 7 or 8pm, last 16 bars just loop for a placeholder, but I’m very excited to continue. Only problems I’ve really had is making sure you can hear and feel every element, mainly the flute.

It has a beautiful vibe! Very dreamy. In terms of feedback: Your fast, noisy hihat sound seems overly bright. Happens to me all the time if I spent too long working on something. Anyway, it starts to annoy me because it is playing virtually all the time. I’d recommend try lowering its volume. But be sure to try to add some variation. Around 2:04 you have a laser battle going on. I feel that continues a bit too long maybe.
Anyway, lot of good sounds going on! I definitely see this can go places with a bit more work.
I really admire the complexity of this track, in fact i am quite jealous of this kind of thinking and composing as i my self want to make these kind of tracks but cant really think this way

Mission accomplished only thing i missed is at the start of the track there is this super sub bass but it disappeared later on or it might be my headphones i will have a listen later on my speakers maybe its there after all
