I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Good stuff! I agree with stoiximan the mix could be a bit tighter in the 2nd half. But the tune is surely there. Looking forward to hearing the ‘final’ version. Be sure to post it here.

Hi, i am pretty new to the forum (but not to tracking), so i hope it’s ok if i post my creation, too  … i am just finding my way back into tracking, after doing almost no music for too many years. However, in 2017 i released an album entirely made with Jeskola Buzz - the tracks are way older, though.

Welcome and don’t worry this is why i created this thread for. Also there is a dedicated forum topic called Renoise Songs if you want to share songs there too.I hear your tracks have a nice and calm vibe, i am digging them so far.Its nice to hear more peaceful tracks these days because with this virus thing we are running out of patience.

Hi there friendly people. I’m struggling with the mix of this track. And I’m looking for feedback.

Right now it is just a static mix. Please tell me how this holds up. And if you have suggestions on how to improve it, I’d love to hear it!

I am planning to lower the volume of the acoustic guitar at the end.

Think i’d move the keyboardist playing the drone way back
so the guitar walks around stage some and the drummer
is featured a bit more.

Dear Lord this is fantastic!!!Is it all recorded live? Difficult track to mix maybe try some Gullfoss on the master or a bit parallel compression could help the mix but really i cant tell you anything specific

Thank you @Jek and @stoiximan. Your input is much appreciated.

This is why getting an outside opinion is so important. When I made the track I started with the drone. So in my mind it is the star of the show. Never even considered pushing it backwards in the mix. Definitely gonna give that a try. Thank you.

Thank you so much. It is a great encouragement reading that. I am proud of this track, yes. That is why it is important to me to give it a decent mix.

I hate spoiling the illusion but it is 100% made in Renoise. Did put in quite a bit of effort to give it a live / organic vibe. Guess that worked out.

Gullfoss looks like an interesting piece of software. I’m gonna have to try indeed. Thanks for the suggestion(s).

Oh, I’m curious about using redux in renoise (you might say that’s fucking useless, but hey, why not ?)
Have you tried that ?

Just releases some renoise tunes on bandcamp, here’s one you may like:

That is lovely! To my ears it has a slightly vintage vibe to it that I really like. As in it reminds me of music I used to a listen to a lot 20 years ago or so. Dig the dark, gritty distorted nature of this type of music. Good stuff. Gonna check the rest of your tracks also.

Cheers, appreciate the feedback, happy you enjoyed it.

Also had this album released in 2016, hardware some analog, all controlled by renoise with some live jamming.

You over did it with the effects, reverb delay.Try using just a bit of them and repost the track cause as is it’s a mess I can’t even understand what you are saying. But I am really glad that you are using Renoise at such a young age.Keep trying and you will get better soon. Also I will advise you to learn some music theory

Hey thanks for your advices ! Well I can say that I carefully over did it with the effects by design. I didn’t really care about the words of the song, but maybe I should ! :upside_down_face: I will keep this in mind for the next tune I’ll made.
I can also say that I’m 40, I’m not the girl who sing, but I started with Noisetracker at the age of ten on my Atari ST, so I was even younger :slightly_smiling_face:
About the music theory, I still have a lot of stuff to learn. Thanks for your support !

I got that you intentionally buried her words. And the deliberate (over)use of effects. There could be a nice experimental track in there. But right now it just sounds like a mess. To my mind it lacks focus. That might be solved by working on the mix/composition a bit more. Tone everything down a bit. Balance it out better. Choose a foreground element. Give the listener something to latch on to. You know, a guiding line to lead them through your intentional chaos. Right now it is a bit too chaotic, for me anyway.

Another good one from you Cursed. At this point I feel comfortable saying, as always. It is time for you to find a band. Or sessions players and record your stuff with live players. Don’t get me wrong. Your tracks do a very convincing job. But having this all played in by human players would take it to the next level. Maybe find a vocalist and you’re off to the races. There is not replacement for (air) displacement. Your compositions are good enough for it.
