Idea: Clear Tool

We have Copy+Clear, Copy, and Paste block but we don’t have a Clear block function. Is anybody else sorely missing this?

I’d be most comfortable using a tool you could bind to the Del key, i.e. it clears the selection if present, otherwise, does the normal thing (clears the value under the cursor - exception: hitting Del while in a 4-digit effect column ought to clear the whole effect, not just zero the current digit.)

Possible additional feature for (e.g.) Shift+Del - add note-cuts/09xx’s/new notes as required to ‘mute’ the notes while inside the selection.

Nah, it’s still Copy+Clear. And it does nothing if nothing is selected. I’m looking for a general-purpose delete, which works on whatever’s selected, and, if nothing, the current cell.
