If The Effect Number Barrier Would Ever Be Broken..

True.

Can see things getting very cluttered this way but probably better than being able to arbitrarily move effects around…

A new ‘random’ patterncommand R0XX, where:

R = Random command
0 = any current patterncommand (1XX, CXX etcetera)
X = value range where within a random selection should be made

This way you can have repeating patterns and still have different outcomes every time a randomized section is played.

EDIT:

Maybe it would be cooler if you could set minimum and maximum values where within a random selection would be made. This scenario would ask for the addition of another effect column by pressing the little + button in the top right of the track. In the first column you’d set the minimum value and in the appended column the maximum value.

That kind of thing seems like it would be already possible with some scripts chewing on the xmls.

Well… actually… that’s a good idea! Gonna need a lot of send-tracks, but hey… fukkit!

That would allow you to randomise a pattern, which you can already do for a lot of values, but not have the same pattern playing repeatedly in a live situation with subtle variations each time.

indeed!

a patterncommand to change highlighting per pattern(track!) would be a nice thing to have when you use different (time-signature / bpm) sections in songs. Different highlighting per track would be nice to have when experimenting with poly-rhythem’esque things.

Yeah could be useful. Would prefer see multi-level pattern arranger and the ability to set it per pattern and select what tracks each pattern contains.
